PSone. I'll edit the title.

They can be used on both. To use them on the PS1, you need a GameShark/Action Replay. For the emulator, you have to use the PEC plugin.
@ crashfinder: Try the code like this instead and let me know: 8001DD0C 0000.

I'll try and get a hold of the PAL and JP versions. Do you have a GameShark/Action Replay cheat device? Are you using an emulator?
(EDIT) I'll be on later. I have to take care of something.

If you need another version, most PSX ISO Rips are NTSC, which may help when entering the codes with ePSXe.
|
Before anyone asks - I can confirm that the Playstation Portable runs PSX ROMS at a faster rate than normal. On Orient Express I was able to achieve a 0:16:06 time on my third try of the NTSC-U ROM, which should be a 0:17:06 by my reckoning. I think it messes with the timing of the game?
Bottom line - Please do not submit PSX-PSP records. If you do, use a program like RemoteJoy to prove it |

@ crashthebandicoot: OK
@ byebyeblimps: I don't need the ISO from another region to make the codes. If someone could get PEC running, they could just do a memory dump of a PAL/JP version for me. A memory dump is a snapshot of a game's memory while it was running. Just so you know, I checked around for the ISO's and Crash' 1, 2, and 3 links were dead.
@ crashfinder: I wonder why it didn't work before. Oh, well. At least you got it working now.

This is quite a useful topic, so I'll be making it sticky if it's alright with you.
And heh, a random thought just occurred to me- imagine being zapped by one of those shrinking rays from Crash 2, while using a size modification code.
I'm guessing that while using size codes, the character models themselves appear to be of a different size, but things like, say, the smoke emanating from Crash if he gets burned remains the same size, right? I'm assuming so because the smoke is a different type of object, so it shouldn't be affected by the code.

Sure, HP. I just checked to see what would happen, and the smoke size is the same as your size. The smoke is not listed as an object. Objects are Crash, gems, enemies, fruits, etc. Here are a few examples of how the objects are named:
Crash 2 Level: Pack Attack
"obj_box_continue" - Continue Box "obj_space_jet_pack" - Jet Pack gear "obj_willy#54_265" - Crash
Crash 2 Level: Spaced Out
"obj_willy#33_200" - Crash
(EDIT) I just added a size mod for the enemies/objects only for Crash 1.

No one said you HAD to use them
There just there incase some one like ME want's to use them.
And as long as you beat the game first, where does it say you can't have a little fun messing with the game ?

What kind of reply was that? If you're not interested, no one's forcing you to post about it.
Quote:| Sure, HP. I just checked to see what would happen, and the smoke size is the same as your size. The smoke is not listed as an object. Objects are Crash, gems, enemies, fruits, etc. |

Alrighty then. At first I assumed the smoke would remain the same size, because that happens when you get toasted after being shrunk in Crash 2. It's probable they didn't take much notice about it, since not a lot of people are going to do that on purpose.

Sorry for the lack of update in codes. I'm revising and making more codes. I want them to be as user-friendly as possible. Some new hacks I made are Dark Crash (Brightness mod), Hyper Crash (faster), and a level modifier (nothing special yet). Most of the Crash codes will affect the enemies. That's just how the game works. Later tonight I will post some Crash 2 codes; both US and PAL.
P.S. - I compared Crash 2 (US and PAL) side-by-side during the demo on the same level, and noticed that the PAL Crash A.I. is more aggressive (smarter) than the US version. In the US version, he dies early in the demos.
@ Zenx: All of the objects are listed with their protoype names.

The Hyper Crash mod interests me in particular, since I'd like to see how some things would react to this (especially piles of Crates).
The gameplay demo thing you've pointed out will be good to document on the site, in Differences Between Versions.

I don't know if its my CPU or my disk, but when I use up to 3 codes are more, it seems to run slower then its suposed to. (this is at Crash 2)

Hmm. I'll look into the issue. What emulator are you using?
(EDIT) The game runs slow because of the invincible code.
(EDIT 2): I added a new invincible code for both Crash 1 and 2. The other invincible codes have been removed.

I hate these kind of cheats. Nah im kidding. I mean they should NOT be used if you havent already completed the game OR if you cant find anyone to help you complete a level. Otherwise it is ok if youve already done the game.
